Kate has worked in the Mental Health field for over 20 years, with more than 10 years providing individual and group therapy to children, young people and adults. She has also provided training, leadership and clinical supervision to Social Workers, Counsellors and Psychologists during this time in areas of Drug and Alcohol dependence, Women’s Health, Refugee’s and Asylum Seekers and School Counselling.

Kate believes in every individual’s ability to heal from trauma and pain, utilising their own strengths to live a life in full health and wellness. Kate takes a warm, empathic, and non-judgemental stance with everyone she sees, applying a collaborative approach to ensure the therapy is tailored to your individual needs, no one person is the same! She draws on modalities such as Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy, Dialectic Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Exposure Therapy, Mindfulness and Relaxation, Skills Training, and Interpersonal Therapy.

The driving force behind Kate’s therapeutic practice is her belief and passion for inclusivity, diversity, social justice and in the delivery of trauma informed care.

Kate has extensive experience in working with victims of refugee torture and trauma, PTSD and domestic and family violence. She has additional experience working with those experiencing or living with personality disorders, anxiety, stress, depression, emotional dysregulation, low self-esteem, relationship challenges, racism and discrimination. Special interest areas for Kate are in the area of complex trauma, social-political-cultural-gendered impacts on mental health and whole self-wellness including the impacts of stress and nutrition on the body.

Nercy Clark

Nercy Clark is a Clinical Social Worker with over 15 years’ experience in supportive mental health services. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Mount St. Mary’s University, Los Angeles before obtaining a Masters of Social Work from California State University, Northridge. Her work experience consists of a diverse range of clinical fields which include providing Community Mental Health services to marginalised families in inner-city Los Angeles, specialised trauma support services for refugee communities in Sydney’s South West, and more recently delivering solution focused counselling in the corporate wellbeing space through Employee Assistance Programs (EAP).

Treatment areas of expertise include Children & Adolescents, Anxiety, Attachment, Boundary Setting, Depression, Domestic Violence, Emotional Dysregulation, Grief & Loss, LGBTQI+ Issues, Racism, Discrimination, Self Esteem, Stress Management, Survivors of Abuse, Trauma, PTSD, and Women’s Issues.

Nercy’s therapeutic process is to hold space for individuals to be able to tap into their resilience, heal, and thrive. This is done by drawing from a collective of treatment approaches, which may include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TF-CBT) Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Attachment Theory, Compassion Focused, Mindfulness, and Strengths Based interventions. She has experience in providing individual, group and family therapy, as well as facilitating professional development workshops.
